My kids have an iOS app that is no longer offered on the App Store, because the company that made it lost the rights to the media.
My kids are not very interested in taking “Oh hahaha it’s gone now” for an answer, and I can hardly blame them.
It used to be relatively straightforward to sync this app to my computer and then push it back to whichever iPad didn’t have it, but Apple decided to pull app management from iTunes in September 2017, because fuck you.
Turns out they then made a version that can still do it; see https://9to5mac.com/2017/10/09/apple-itunes-apps-focused-removed-stopgap/ and https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208079

- Plug in an iPad where the app is working
- If necessary, do the Account -> Authorizations -> Authorize This Computer step
- Go to the Apps tab
- Sync
